Obituary for Betty Mantiply Tomlin

Betty Jean Mantiply Tomlin, 73, of Madison Heights passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the widow of Jerry V. Tomlin.

Born in Lynchburg, October 30, 1942, Mrs. Tomlin was the daughter of the late Marion, and Nathaniel Mantiply. She was retired a as a Secretary at Amherst County High School and was very active with Madison Heights Dixie Youth Baseball for many years.

She is survived by her son, Kevin B. Tomlin (Tina Hall) of Madison Heights; granddaughters: Halie Tomlin (Joey), Kinsey Tomlin (Dustin) and Allison Tomlin (Billy); sister, Mary Nash (Bill) of Madison Heights; sister in law, Janice Williams (Russell), and special friend, Ruth Tomlin of Lynchburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth D. Tomlin and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Tomlin.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 14, 2016 at Driskill Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mays officiating. Interment will follow in the Mantiply Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a veteran’s organization or to Madison Heights Dixie Youth Baseball
