Obituary for Earl Philip Leebrick

Earl Philip “Phil” Leebrick, 83 of Lowesville passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 in Lynchburg.

Born in Lowesville, Aug. 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Lottie Angus Leebrick. He was the former owner/operator of Leebrick Hauling, Leebrick Motor Sales, Leebrick Store and Hilltop Market, all in Lowesville. He was also a founding member and the first Governor of the Piney River Moose Lodge and a U. S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters: Virginia L. Harris and Marian H. Cash; and three brothers: William A. Leebrick, Tony E. Leebrick and Joseph K. Leebrick.

He was deeply loved and is survived by his wife of 38 years, Katherine Shipe “Kay” Leebrick of Lowesville; step-daughter, Jackie Sincox of Catlett, VA; sister, Evelyn P. Spalding of Fredericksburg; brother, Glenn M. Leebrick of Lynchburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at Driskill Funeral Chapel, Amherst. Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday and from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
